Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.

『ソトシゴト~m-flo turns it out!~』

I’m so in love with Ken Hirai’s singing right now. So smooth, and so absolutely 上手い.

Sony Music Japan decided to remove this from YouTube, so I had to go to Google Videos for it.

Behold the greatest music video to ever exist!

I love it when serious musicians are able to not take themselves seriously. Now I’ve got the chorus stuck in my head and a smile plastered to my face.

I found out today…

…that perhaps, one of the best ways to listen to any song is to get familiar with it, until you know every word and think you can re-create all the instrumentation in your head at will. Then, shelf it for some years or so, the longer the better. Let it sit, let it ferment, let it whatever. Get on with life and simply let time do the work while it lies in wait with the other forgotten stuff in the crevices of your memory.

One day, when boredom with your current state of being strikes, reach into that crevice for some amusement. Randomly pick that once familiar object. (Pop that CD into your player.)

Hear, as the dust falls off particle by particle. Whatever processes all those years of sitting have put this song through would have enhanced its sheen. Allow yourself to be amazed by how time has turned this object into something more brilliant. Listen, as the shine percolates your eardrums and reacquaints itself with your soul. Hear your mind tell your heart “I remember why you loved this” while your heart replies, “I want you to remember why I love it even more now.”

薛凱琪 - 除下吊帶前

Dear, make sure you have enough wisdom to judge if he’s good enough…

Lyrics aside, gorgeous melody and arrangements. If I were a guy, I’d so dig this girl.

I’ve got problems
so I write them in a book for me to read.
They’re all mine so no one else will get to see
my thoughts, my schemes and hopes and dreams,
Put them away just for a rainy day.

I don’t talk much,
never found much reasoning to speak.
Jeff Pianki, Mean Old Man (via diadelosvivos)

"I don't know a man who isn't a little scared of Fiona Apple..."

Very nice article about my tunes with an interview.

“I tend to follow a very nocturnal sort of existence mainly because I don’t much care for sunlight. Bright colors of any kind depress me, in fact. And my moods are more or less inversely related to the clarity of the sky, on any given day. A matter of fact, my private motto has always been that behind every silver lining there is a cloud.” —Glenn Gould

How wicked.
